Good question and hopefully one that can be answered right here and now. Pastel Wasteland is a collective of young, ambitious film makers and producers who have made their own horror feature film called ‘I am an Addict’.
Not only that, they have also gathered together and assembled the best in short horror/sci-fi films from around the world through the well respected FilmFreeway submission platform for the festival. Pastel Wasteland have curated the shorts and have picked the best to screen in two hour long blocks. The shorts will be in competition so there will be a prize giving ceremony before the main feature.
There will be ample time to talk to the film makers throughout the afternoon and evening, critique their work and generally discuss the past, present and future of the genre.
If you love horror come and support these young professionals. Tickets are £10 and available on the website. Doors open at 1.00pm.
On Thursday we are delighted that Denise Black who has starred in many tv programmes including Corrie, Emmerdale and Queer as Folk will be making a guest appearance at No6. She plays the role of Mary in the The Last Tree so she will be introducing the film but also be championing the local mental health charity ‘Tonic’. There will be a collection for the charity after the film, donations gratefully received.
